Olivia

We’re trying to go to London every couple of months for a weekend to do touristy things. Last weekend we went to see the Tower of London. It was pretty amazing going from the glass and skyscraper modern world – the ‘shard of glass’ is being built just opposite the entrance and is just one of loads of strangely shaped glass buildings ringing the  area – into a wierd mishmash of buildings preserved from various periods through the centuries.

Olivia is working towards getting her Brownie cooking badge. She made Toad in the Hole for us and Granny and Mike. Sausages and yorshire pudding rolled into one, if ever there was a dish made for Olivia!

We went back to Spain at Easter. Olivia says she has forgotten all her Spanish and Catalan, but I think she does remember. We stayed with friends Dom and Eliza so Olivia spent her time catching up with her friend Ruby. We went back to the park in Sitges where Olivia had previously had a birthday party when we lived in Spain.

How time flies, we have not been very good at keeping Olivia’s site updated, there’s only one post since her previous birthday!

This year Olivia got two lovely rabbits called Cookie and Flopsy. Cookie is black and is very friendly, Flopsy is light brown and is more timid. They’re sisters and when they’re let loose to run around the garden they really ‘hare’ around (or should that be rabbit around? bad dad joke..).

OK, so now the title ’6 going on 16′ doesn’t really work so I’ve updated the title to simply Olivia.

I’m going to upload a vid (hopefully) shortly taken on her birthday, which went well.

The weather has been mixed so we’ve been looking for things for the kids to do that doesn’t revolve around swimming in the river. Yesterday we went to a ‘tree climbing’ park where they have cables running from tree to tree and the kids (and adults) have to make their way around a course whilst attached by a harness. There were course of varying difficulty – all the kids did the fist course but Gabriel, as the oldest, had been given a ticket for the next course up. Olivia was giving me a hard time because she also wanted to do it but when it came to doing it he couldn’t get past the first hurdle as he just wasn’t tall enough, so that settled that.
